Female Adult Acne
Nowadays, female adult acne became a real problem worldwide. Dermatologists all over the world do researches in order to understand the deep underlying process of female adult acne formation. During the period of teen both males and females tend to suffer from acne breakouts as their body system of hormones start to change and goes through the puberty to adulthood state. But after 20 women claim to suffer from female adult acne more often than men do.
Hormonal Impact on Female Adult Acne
Most of people are aware of the connection between hormonal changes and female adult acne outburst. The hormonal impact is obvious. Testosterone does influence the formation of adult acne both in men and women. Yet, testosterone imbalance has more acne impact on adult females.
Overproduction of Testosterone
What happens to female body to get a reaction like that? The female’s body starts to lack estrogen, a hormone typically known as female sex hormone. But the estrogen is not only a sex hormone in human’s body. Both estrogen and androgen are present in male and females bodies by nature. Menstruation and ovulation, pregnancy as well as perimenopause and menopause fluctuate or severely decrease level of estrogen. This results in actual rise of testosterone causing more severe female adult acne breakouts.
Female Adult Acne Survey
There is a common belief proved by researches that women tend to get adult acne more often than men do during adulthood. University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Medicine did a survey and has proven this opinion.
